Here is my animated gif project, for the company: SNOUT. At first, I thought that creating many many layers would give me a nice gif, but that type of thinking led to a crash and burn. This is my first animation, I was trying to do something I wasn’t even sure how to do.
So then I started thinking, let’s scrap the whole thing and start fresh. It hurt my soul sure, but it came out better than before.

I first started it in green, and then used my ‘protect alpha’ setting to make it white. I had like 53+ layers going for me right there. This took a while and I thought it would come out quite nice, but it ended up looking really choppy. The only thing that I probably liked about this one was that the tail movement was more realistic?
It was insane, I locked the body layer and then animated the tail on separate layers. But when I scrapped it and started fresh, I only ended up with about 20+ layers. These layers that you see here where a reference point, so I could make the tail go backwards from which it came. This gave it more swish.
